Police arrested a man after they say he stabbed his brother at a La Crosse apartment Wednesday.

Police say, when they got there, they found Richard Smith and his brother, Jerry, in the apartment. Jerry had been stabbed in the right arm.

Richard told police he found a kitchen knife in the living room, tripped and accidentally stabbed his brother.

Jerry was sleeping in the living room at the time.
