The Chetek Police Department officially added an officer to its force Thursday night.

And this one can really take a bite out of crime. Ace, the department's new K-9 dog got sworn in Thursday night in Chetek. The yellow lab got to show off his drug finding abilities to his new community at city hall.

His handler hid marijuana underneath the city council desk and demonstrated how ace tracks drugs down.

Officer Ray Parr says, "it's one more tool to help fight drug problems, um, he can obviously pick up drug smell a lot easier than humans can, so based on that we can investigate further."

Parr says Ace will soon add tracking to his resume, to help find people. He's a young pup, he turns one next month.
