With the filming for the movie "Public Enemies" going on throughout parts of Wisconsin this week, an Altoona native has worked his way into the film.
Johnny Depp is the headliner for this film about bank robber John Dillinger. But amid the extras, Altoona native Cody Udler used his real-life photography skills to land in a real-life film.
"They said, show us shots from this side and then this side. After a while, they told us you made it", Udler told us.
Udler's hair was then worked into a 30s-era style, with the clothes to match as his assignment waited.
"We need you in Darling ton on the 19th at 4:30 a.M. For the courtroom scene", he said.
The courtroom scene shot on Tuesday in Darlington lasted well beyond the usual "banker's hours".
It turned into a 20-hour day and we were there for about 8 to 8 and a half hours", Udler said.
The timing has worked out well for Udler, known as "Cory Quinn" from his days as an Eau Claire radio personality.
Now he lives in Columbus, another prime location for the shooting of Public Enemies.
Udler also said he was amazed by the attention to detail.
70 years ago, smoking was not only allowed in courthouses but was commonplace.
He said the producers handed out unfiltered Lucky Strikes to smokers to help give the scene a more authentic look.
