Record Second-Quarter Home Sales in Wisconsin

Local realtors say they don't see an end to the low interest rates that led to record home sales in Wisconsin during the second quarter of this year.

A study by the Wisconsin Realtors Association shows that more than 30,000 homes were sold from April through June.

While experts say sales in the Chippewa Valley have plateaued relative to some other parts of the state, they're still seeing all kinds of newcomers entering the market to build some equity, and not pay through the nose for it.

"I think this is a sign of the current President's tax cuts and the things that have happened over the past couple years which has led to low interest rates and low inflation," said Greg Haselwander of Haselwander Realtors.

The state realtors association also reports a record pace for the existing home market, and for home building.
