Police Wrap Up Probe of Hudson Funeral Home Slayings

The families of two funeral home workers murdered more than three years ago in western Wisconsin may soon get some answers in the case.

Police have finished their investigation into the case and its connection to a priest who killed himself after officers interviewed him.

St. Croix County District Attorney Eric Johnson says he won't reveal any details until after meeting with the slain workers' families, maybe early next month.

Funeral home director Dan O'Connell and intern James Ellison were fatally shot in the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson in 2002.

The priest, Father Ryan Erickson, was working at a church in Hudson at the time of the slayings. Investigations interviewed him about the killings last year. He committed suicide in outside his new parish in Hurley. Police say the priest denied involvement in the slayings.
