$110-Million Dollar Camp Randall Remodeling Ready For Fans

After four years of work, the new-and-improved Camp Randall Stadium opens for business September 3rd.

On full display for fans and potential recruits will be the first renovations to the storied stadium in four decades, including dozens of new luxury boxes, wider concourses, a new scoreboard and -- yes -- more toilets.

Wisconsin athletic director and football coach Barry Alvarez says the message is Wisconsin is committed to its football program.

The project rang in millions of dollars over initial estimates and marks the first changes at Wisconsin's 88-year-old stadium since 1965.

As the football program rose to prominence in the 1990s under Alvarez and fans started jamming the stands, the athletic department says the stadium became a logistical nightmare.

Wisconsin officials began studying potential renovations in 1999. The final cost came in at just under 110 million dollars.
