The Eau Claire Area School Board picks Dr. Ron Heilmann to be the district's next superintendent. Heilmann is coming to Eau Claire from the Oshkosh Area School District.

"I’m extremely excited and looking forward to becoming a part of the Eau Claire community. I was really attracted by the community. I saw so many positives with the high quality placed on education. I think I have certain skills that will work well in this district," Heilmann told NewsCenter 13 Wednesday.

Heilmann says he is originally from Wisconsin and grew up in the Milwaukee area. He taught in Texas, before returning to home to work in Oshkosh.

The Eau Claire School Board made the unanimous decision Monday night saying "Dr. Heilmann’s exemplary leadership skills, professional experience and community engagement successes clearly reflect the characteristics the Board and the Eau Claire community identified as necessary for our next superintendent."

Heilmann says he hopes to start this summer. The Board says it will release contract details at a later date.

The Eau Claire Area School Board is pleased to announce that it has selected an outstanding candidate for the Superintendent position for the Eau Claire Area School District—Dr. Ron Heilmann.

The School Board met in closed session Monday evening and made a unanimous decision to select Dr. Heilmann as the next Superintendent for the Eau Claire Area School District.

Dr. Heilmann’s exemplary leadership skills, professional experience and community engagement successes clearly reflect the characteristics the Board and the Eau Claire community identified as necessary for our next superintendent.

After the completion of an extensive on-site visit to the Oshkosh Area Schools (with interaction with diverse stakeholders and review of various processes and documentation of Dr. Heilmann’s fiscal and educational organizational management) the Board whole-heartedly endorsed Dr. Heilmann as the “right match” for Eau Claire.

The Board is extremely pleased that Dr. Heilmann has accepted the invitation to serve the Eau Claire community. Details of the contract are currently being discussed and will be announced at a later date.
