More than $2.1 million has been spent on television advertising in the state Supreme Court race that will be decided Tuesday.

A new study shows that outside groups that don't have to report who supports them have spent nine times as much on ads as the two candidates.

Justice Louis Butler is being challenged by Burnett County Circuit Judge Michael Gableman.

The Brennan Center for Justice at New York University School of Law issued a report on Wednesday that shows spending on ads through Sunday.

During that time, outside groups spent more than $2 million compared to just $148,000 by the two candidates.

The anti-Gableman group Greater Wisconsin Committee spent the most at $614,000.
