Some smart signs along the interstate will help us in our travels.

Drivers in this area will be the first to see some new technology that's designed to help keep traffic moving on the interstate during construction.

The department of transportation now has what's called the "Intelligent Work Zone." It's on I-94 near the Eau Claire-Dunn county line.

A camera in the median of the interstate monitors traffic in the construction zones, which then sends information.

The system actually turns into a message on an electronic message board on the side of the road. These messages suggest what drivers should do; for instance, merge into the right lane.
