Within a 24-hour period, some gas stations in Eau Claire went up by as much as 25 cents.
The price of gas ranges from $2.89 to $2.99 a gallon in the Eau Claire area.
Erin Roth from the Wisconsin Petroleum Council says the shut down of oil and fuel shipments in the south could cause gas to jump 20 to 30 cents a gallon.
The state gets 20 percent of its fuel from the south and the majority of it from Canada.
