For many, Wednesday was the final day of summer before school starts. Students from Altoona schools are stocking up on back to school clothes with a new dress code in mind.
The guidelines include no spaghetti straps and require that shirts overlap with pants.
The high school principal says the majority of students dress appropriately, and the new guidelines help clarify for others what won't be acceptable. "I think this helps them feel more comfortable with being themselves and not having to feel they have to wear certain clothing or dress certain ways to try and impress," says Jeff Pepowski.
A letter was sent home to students and parents earlier this summer with the revised guidelines. The guidelines are also posted on the school's Web site: http://www.altoona.k12.wi.us/
