Our cold and snowy Wisconsin winter could keep local farmers off the fields for longer than normal.
Farmers normally start planting corn in late April.
But, a U-W Extension agent says farmers won't risk hitting the rows until the soil warms up.
Meanwhile, just how much corn farmers decide to plant could affect your wallet and your dinner table.
American farmers produced more corn last year than ever before, and got the highest prices ever.
In turn, pork, beef and poultry producers say they'll have to raise prices if corn continues to bring in big bucks.
Experts say those prices hinge on how much corn is planted, and if the weather remains good for farmers.
