Doyle Increases Campaign Fund For Reelection

New reports show Governor Jim Doyle has 3.5 million dollars ready to pour into his re-election bid ... and that's with more than a year before anyone casts a vote.

Campaign finance reports filed with the state Elections Board show Doyle has generated more than half of the 5.9 million dollars he spent during the 2002 race for governor. That was the most expensive gubernatorial contest in state history.

The reports show the Democratic governor raised 1.4 million dollars from January first to June 30th.

His Republican opponents, Mark Green and Scott Walker, had 2.5 million dollars in the bank combined.
