Limited trapping in the Tower Ridge recreation area will be allowed for a six-week period starting in November.
With a 26 to 1 vote Wednesday, the Eau Claire County board approved limitations for trapping on county land, including Tower Ridge in the town of Seymour.
Traps can be used from November 1st to December 15th. The body grip traps must be submerged in water or at least 5 feet above the surface of grass or snow, such as, in a tree.
This issue came up when, last year, some dog owners say their pets were hurt and one said a trap killed her dog in the area.
