Police cars in Eau Claire will now have backpacks to help kids.
The program is called “B.A.C.K Packets” (Become a Cheerful Kid).
They will be filled with children's books to help kids in crisis situations.
The program originally started in Madison and Dane county
It was launched by the "With Wings And a Halo" organization.
They hope the program will eventually spread statewide.
For Eau Claire police, it will provide some help in everyday situations.
"Whether it be a traffic accident, a domestic situation, any type of crisis situation, we at the Eau Claire Police Department handle these types of cases on a daily basis," says Jason Kaveney, E.C.P.D.
“With Wings And a Halo” hopes the program will become nationwide within two years.
