Another Northern Wisconsin School District Plans To Sell Buildings

Another northern Wisconsin school district is faced with some tough choices because of difficult financial times.

The Rhinelander School District is selling five properties, including schools and the administration building.

Superintendent Roger Erdahl says the school district is being reconfigured. The administration will move to the high school. Erdahl says it's a welcome move because administrators should be around students every day.

Most of the items from the closed schools have been moved to other schools.

Despite fewer buildings, Erdahl says the quality of education will be the same.

Rhinelander realtor Ron Skagen says the buildings will sell for 150-thousand to 200-thousand dollars.

Two weeks ago, the Florence School Board voted to dissolve the state's only countywide school district.
