Thank God that these three Rice Lake Police Officers were on hand and made such split second decisions. If they had hesitated even for another minute a man's life if not the other lives would have been lost. They sought not the lime light or glory from their friends and neighbors in their actions. I personally know Officer Schannacky as he grew up and was a friend of my son's. At his highschool graduation he knew then that he wanted to be, a police officer. I'm proud to know this young hero. I hope that this city realises that we have some of the best first responders any city could have hired. They ran in when only others watched or walked. A dangerous act? You bet, but that is what it takes to be a hero. Sometimes it is the police officers and not the fireman who saves the day. As officer Schanacky told his mom, "It was just another day at work." No Anthony, it was a very special day at work. Thank you to Officers Chad Thompson, Julie Webber, and Anthony Schnacky the real heroes.
