"Grand Little Theatre"
As the Chippewa Valley Theater Guild prepares celebrates their 25th Anniversary, they are also now celebrating the purchase of a building downtown.
The Salvation Army building downtown will soon become the "Grand Little Theatre". The Guild will house offices and the costume shop there, as well as hold classes, rehearsals and smaller scale performances.
"We're really pleased that the Salvation Army building became available to us so that we could be part of the downtown revitalization," says Ann Sessions.
Instead of renting space from UW-Eau Claire for summer drama club, the Guild will be able to hold year-round clubs and classes. "Our educational program can really be expanded now so it really will be an academy," says Guild co-founder Bob Carr.
The Guild is planning to start a teen drama club next month and will soon announce a major fundraiser for renovations and other materials.
