Another case of west nile has been reported in Chippewa county. the department of Public Health says a dead crow found on August 29th has tested positive for the virus.
The virus is transmitted through mosquitos who feed on infected birds.
It's the first bird to test positive this year in the county since surveillance began in May.
The deparment says residents should be more vigilant in preventing mosquito bites by keeping window screens in good repair, wearing light colored clothing and avoiding the outdoors around dawn and dusk.
Most people infected with the virus either don't get sick or experience mild symptoms and less than 1% get seriously ill.
