Officers arrested a man they say led them on a chase from Eau Claire through Altoona.

That was about two blocks north of South Hastings Way and Brackett Avenue.

Officers say he took off into Altoona. That's where they say he tried to ram a squad car and swerved around road spikes.

He stopped on Highway 12 about a half mile west of town.

Police caught him after he tried to run away.
