Legal Fund Chair: Amish Fear What New Law Could Bring

A new law that makes you register your property if you're raising livestock on it isn't going over so well with Amish farmers.
The state chairman of the Ranchers-Cattlemen Action Legal Fund says the Amish think it may lead to the tagging and tracking of adults and children.

The Wisconsin Premises Registration Act goes into effect November first, and could help contain and investigate breakouts of mad cow, foot and mouth and other livestock diseases within 48 hours.

The industry groups handling the registration say it's the first of three steps of a new national tracking system.
