I would like to let my cats out in nature but because there are so many idiots that would love to hurt these poor innocent cats they are safe inside. People just don't want to leave nature alone and more worried about their precious gardens/yards than a living/breathing/feeling cat.

Should a person who shoots cats be allowed to have a gun? Who will they shoot next? Guns are for hunting, so people can put food on the table. When will these complete idiots learn this. People like the person who shot this cat are just wannabees. Some people even boast of having a gun collection. Guns are used kill people, animals, why are they made so glamourous? People who kill family pets, should be put in jail, until they learn to respect people, family pets, and why there are guns. They are not for showing off, they are used to hunt wildlife and put that food on the table. Some people love the family pet as family member.

Cats that are outside allday are very harmful to the local wildlife.I too am a pet owner but I am aware of therisks of pets being outside all day...Not only cars but other animals and non friendly people are out there...I am not saying people can shoot our pets but i also have talked to people who see a other side of story.I remain neutral on subject and can truly say I feel for you andthe shooter was being very irrespnsible to say the least. mike

This is so sad. I feel for you, I also have 3 cats (indoor) and a dog and if my neighbor hurt any of my animals I would be afraid also. I feel for your loss.

That is HORRIBLE! Whoever did that should be locked up. I'd be terrified too! So sorry that you lost your pet in such a horrible way.

I don't care for cats either but this is just sick and dangerous! I hope they catch this jerk so these people don't have to have fear to go into their own front yard.

I hope the person that shot the cat is found and punished severly. If they didn't like that the animal was loose they could have called animal control. Also shooting a gun near the residence was putting the pet owners in danger too!
