A Balsam Lake man pleads no contest to battery to a law enforcement officer after an argument at a gas station.
In early December, a Polk County sheriff's deputy had to fire a shot at Martin Chapman after investigators say Chapman refused to drop a crow bar even after he was tasered and pepper-sprayed.
Investigators say it all started when Chapman was trying to pay for gas with silver coins. The judge gave Chapman six months in jail and three years probation.
