Feds Extend Comment Period On Wisconsin's Do-Not-Call Law
Federal officials have extended the deadline to comment on a challenge to Wisconsin's no-call list for telemarketers.
Telemarketers have asked the Federal Communications Commission to bar state rules on telemarketing, since there is already a federal law.
But state officials say their do-not-call list is more stringent.
There was a Friday deadline to comment, but the governor asked for an extension when people reported problems accessing the agency's Web site.
Those wishing to comment on the challenges can visit the FCC's Web site at http://www.fcc.gov/ or call the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection at 800-422-7128 for assistance.
