Next month's Green Bay marathon is on pace to have more than 8,000 runners if people continue to register at the same pace.
The number of applicants has exceeded expectations.
Race director Sean Ryan says they've haven't imposed a cap on runners, but there's been some discussion about it.
Last year, about 6,200 runners crossed the finish lines of all of the marathon events in 2007, which included a marathon, half marathon and 5k race.
The race is May 18th.
