TRIVIA CONTEST

"Network" wins largest trivia contest

A team called "Network" is again champion of the world's largest trivia contest.

Network compiled 10,035 points to defeat Graduates of a Lesser God to win the 39th annual, 54-hour marathon of the mind that ended late Sunday night in Stevens Point.

Coordinator Jim Oliva says Network has won the contest more than 15 times.

Last year's winner, Tin Man, finished third.

Oliva says the 39th annual contest attracted 433 teams.

The event, however, was marked with saddness. Long-time contest announcer Tom Daniels died Sunday of a heart attack. He was 57.
