Fire destroyed a home near Augusta early Monday morning. The fire happened just before 5am in the town of Bridge Creek.

Augusta Fire Chief Ken Zich says no one was inside the home when the fire broke out.

He says the family was in the process of moving to another house on the property.

Zich says they believe the fire started in the basement and caused $75,000 in damage.

There's no word on what caused the fire.
