Wisconsin, Other States Powerball Sales Sag

The huge Powerball jackpot isn't driving up sales as much as you might expect.

Retailers and lottery officials say it's unusually calm for a jackpot topping 240 million dollars.

State lottery director Michael Edmonds says sales of the multi-state Powerball game have been sagging for some time now. Edmonds expects sales to increase for Wednesday's 240 million dollar jackpot.

Some retailers say changes made by lottery officials made in the Powerball game may account for slower sales. The odds of winning the jackpot is more difficult. It jumped from one in 120 million to one in 146 million but, the size of the jackpots are bigger.

Powerball is played in 27 states and the District of Columbia.
