The Barron County Sheriff's Department says two people were airlifted to an Eau Claire hospital after the first crash on Monday morning just before 10 a.m.
It happened at Highway 8 and 20th Street in Cameron. In that crash, investigators say James E. Johnson of Chetek was driving his truck east on Highway 8 when the car Tonya Neisler of Cameron was driving went into his lane. Johnson wasn't hurt, Neisler and her passenger were taken by helicopter to Eau Claire.
Tuesday, just after 11a.m. at the same intersection, the Barron Co. Sheriff's Department says William Buechner from Cameron hit Janell M. Severson's car. Buechner was taken in a squad car to the hospital. Severson was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Both crashes are under investigation.
