Former TV-13 Anchor Pat Kreitlow is throwing his hat in the ring for the 23rd Senate District's seat in the 2006 election.
Krietlow will run as a Democrat in hopes of unseating Republican Incumbent Dave Zien.
There was speculation Krietlow might seek other offices, but that ended Saturday with his announcement.
"The representation doesn't represent most of Wisconsin," Kreitlow said.
"Hopefully if I get elected with some others next year and get some more Democratic representation, we can focus on more important issues, like education and healthcare."
Kreitlow is from Eagle Point, and has never held political office.
He also made a similar appearance to announce his candidacy in Thorp Saturday evening.
