18th Annual RCU Classic raises $19,100 for local charities

EAU CLAIRE, Wis (WEAU) --The 18th annual RCU Charity Classic drew a record-breaking 1249 runners, up from 988 a year ago.
Saturday's RCU event at Phoenix Park in Eau Claire raised $19,100 up from $14,200 a year ago with all the money going to youth mentoring programs including UW-Eau Claire Blugold Beginnings, Kinship of Rice Lake and Cameron and Kinship of Polk County.
The overall winner in the 10-K was Steve Thomas of Delano, Minnesota, the winner of the 2-mile was 16-year old Darin Lau of Eau Claire...
WEAU's General Manager Terry McHugh took part in the quarter-mile race with his three-year old granddaughter Adi
While Sportscene 13's Jenn Chapman placed third overall in the Female Division in the 10-k, and took first in the two-mile overall.
