Special Fund Established For Chippewa Falls Marching Band Following Bus-Truck Crash

Endowment and scholarship funds are being established in memory of Chippewa Falls' longtime band director killed Sunday with four others in a bus crash.

Marching band alumni are working on the endowment fund with the blessing of Doug Greenhalgh's family.

Greenhalgh -- known to students as "G" -- along with his wife Therese, eleven-year-old granddaughter and two others died early Sunday morning when their coach bus hit a jackknifed semi near Osseo in Eau Claire County.

Earnings from the endowment, to be called the "G fund" will support the band program.

The Chippewa Falls School district is in the planning stages for creating a scholarship fund for music students.
