Eastern Wisconsin Gas Stations Cheapest In The State
30-Cents A Gallon Below Average
|
|
We've seen gas prices soar around the state and country, but one place those prices aren't soaring is Suring.
The Oconto County community of less than a thousand has the cheapest gas for miles around.
The BP and Citgo gas stations have a mini-price war of sorts. The stations, side-by-side in Suring, are selling regular unleaded for $3.29 -- about 30 cents less than the statewide average.
The minimum markup law requires gas stations to mark up gas by six percent. But, that doesn't apply in this case because both stations sell ethanol-blended fuel.
Governor Doyle suspended enforcement of the minimum markup law on ethanol-blended fuel in the interest of promoting its production in Wisconsin.
