Firefighters battled a house fire in La Crosse on Friday.
It started around 8:00 a.m. Friday morning at a home on Jackson Street. When firefighters got there, heavy smoke was coming from the home. The two people living in the home got out safely, and no one was hurt.
Investigators say it appears to be an electrical fire, but the fire department is still investigating the cause. The house has moderate fire damage, and significant smoke damage.
The Red Cross helped the family find a place to stay.
