West Nile Virus Appears In Western Wisconsin

State health officials say a person in Buffalo County has tested positive for West Nile virus.

The case is the fourth in humans this year. Two people in Dane County and another in Marathon County account for the other cases.

The first two cases became infected from mosquito bites in July.

Symptoms of the infection usually appear between three and 15 days after a bite occurs.
