The power is back on, after a widespread outage in the heart of Trempealeau County.
The Sheriff's Department says a tree fell on a power transmission line at the City of Whitehall’s sub station Saturday afternoon.
Deputies say that disrupted power in the entire city of Whitehall, as well as parts of the City of Independence and the towns of Lincoln, Preston and Pigeon.
They say the lights started to go back on around 2:30 Saturday.
The outage also disrupted the county's non-emergency call system.
