Fire broke out in a Pierce County home overnight.

It happened just after midnight Monday morning on State Highway 72 in Elmwood.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department says the fire started in the chimney of a wood stove.

Firefighters from Elmwood, Spring Valley and Ellsworth were able to put the fire out.

The homeowner, John J. Reinkey, 78, was not hurt
