Doyle Promises Help To GM Employees Save Email Print

Doyle says he'll send a rapid response team to help the workers expedite unemployment claims and give them access to job training and placement services.

The governor says the state will also work to get an extension for unemployment benefits for two years and up to $15,000 for additional education and retraining for eligible workers.

GM is shutting down one shift each at four North American factories, resulting in 3,500 layoffs. The Janesville plant, where full-size SUVs are made, is one of the four.

why not go the real reason the economy and jobs are being lost, but politicians are afraid to do anything about, FUEL PRICES it affects everything, think about it?

Seems like a little to late for helping Doyle. Why not be proactive in trying to keep jobs and generate new jobs here in Wisconsin as opposed to reacting when they're all gone!
