MANKATO, Minn. (AP) -- Minnesota State, Mankato, has named Aaron Keen interim head football coach.
As acting head coach, Keen led the Mavericks to a 13-1 record and the national Division II semifinals. The school said Monday his appointment will run through the end of the school year as a national search is conducted for a permanent head coach.
Keen was pressed into duty when head coach Todd Hoffner was arrested and faced child pornography charges for videos of his children discovered on his university-issued cell phone.
Hoffner was cleared by a judge, but has been reassigned to an administrative role. He has vowed to fight the reassignment.

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) -- The Minnesota State, Mankato football coach who was cleared of child pornography charges wants the investigative reports in his case to remain sealed.
Todd Hoffner sued the state and Blue Earth County earlier this month in hopes of keeping the police reports private, after a Twin Cities television station asked to see them.
Hoffner was accused of child pornography in August after school officials found naked videos of his children on his work-issued cellphone. Those charges were dismissed.
The Mankato Free Press reports that District Court Judge Krista Jass issued a ruling last week that will keep the reports private until they can be reviewed.
Hoffner has been taken off administrative leave but not reinstated as head coach.
