Vernon County investigators are still working leads on a cold case of a woman who was burned and beheaded 23 years ago.

In February 1985, Terry Dolowy's body was found in a ditch along a road about 6 miles south of La Crosse.

Last December, her body was exhumed from an Illinois cemetery and taken to the Regional Medical Examiner's office in Minnesota.
Sheriff Gene Cary says investigators are still waiting on results from that examination.

He says one detective from his department and another from the La Crosse County Sheriff's Department are working on the case.
