Police say a bus knocked over trees, hit a car, and ran into a light pole in Eau Claire Thursday morning when the driver fell asleep behind the wheel.

It happened around 9 a.m. near Madison Street and Whipple Street.

Police say the bus, used for child care, was headed east on Cameron Street, when the driver admittedly fell asleep.

It went off the road, hitting two trees then it crossed the intersection, hit another car and ended up running into the pole.

The bus was empty at the time.

Nobody was hurt.
