A Waukesha County woman says she thought she was going to be killed when an SUV driver started ramming her car, and now that driver has been charged in court.
Forty-two-year-old Eileen Belongea of the town of Waukesha was driving to work about 4 a.m. Wednesday when the SUV tried hitting her head-on. Belongea tried to speed away, but the SUV rammed into the back of her car.
Police later found the SUV abandoned and the suspect hiding in a tree.
Thirty-year-old Leonard Litt of Waukesha was charged yesterday with first-degree recklessly endangering safety and hit-run driving.
He told police he rammed the car because he thought it was his father's.
Waukesha County Court Commissioner Martin Binn told Linn he found that explanation "almost unbelievable."
He set bail at $20,000. Litt is scheduled for a hearing next Tuesday.
