A 13-year-old Appleton boy has been arrested for speeding on a highway south of Neenah.

A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper says he stopped a vehicle traveling 14 mph over the 65 mph speed limit on U.S. Highway 41 Sunday about 10:30 p.m.

The boy's mother was a passenger and has a suspended driver's license. She told the trooper she was teaching the boy to drive.

The woman was cited for permitting her underage son to drive. The boy was referred to juvenile court.
