Menomonie's school board voted to cut several staff positions at its meeting Monday night.
Interim Superintendent Jack Lewis says the equivalent of seven positions were eliminated. The cuts include part-time and full-time interpreters, teachers and guidance counselors.
Now, Lewis says the district's budget should be balanced for the start of the next school year.
He goes on to say because of an expected $785,000 deficit for the 2009-2010 school year another school may have to close.
Lewis says he will stay on another year as interim superintendent.
