Man Who Drove into La Crosse Clinic Pleads No Contest
An Iowa man who drove his minivan into Franciscan Skemp Clinic in La Crosse and barricaded himself in the building two years ago has pleaded no contest to felony criminal damage to property.

An Iowa man who drove his minivan into Franciscan Skemp Clinic in La Crosse and barricaded himself in the building two years ago has pleaded no contest to felony criminal damage to property.
Records show 52-year-old Geoffrey Fitzgerald was in a rage at the time because of his claim that a doctor at the clinic refused to test him for HIV in 1988, and seven years later he tested positive for AIDS. His malpractice lawsuit was dismissed.
With Fitzgerald's plea, charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety and failure to comply with an officer's attempt to take a person into custody were dismissed. Sentencing is June 23rd.
