Deputies find more than 500 marijuana plants at a home in St. Croix County.

Sheriff Dennis Hillstead, with the St. Croix County Sheriff's Department, says deputies responded to the home in the township of Hammond for a domestic dispute. When they got there, they say a woman told them her boyfriend was growing pot on the second floor of the garage.

Brian D. Van Beek was arrested and is charged with disorderly conduct, manufacturing and delivering marijuana, and possession with intent to deliver.

I know both these people and the girlfriend knew what was going on the whole time. How can you have a 500 plant grow room that would stink to high heaven and not be involved?? She is in sitting in jail right now because of her involvement as well.

Really...you people need to start reading. Congratulate "authorities" for destroying not only the farmer's freedom, but also 500 medicine plants? You people should be ashamed of yourselves. Cannabis is on it's way to decriminalization not only in this state, but in many others as well. Opposition is fueled by misinformation, fear, and outright lies. Until this war on the free American public ends, you just gonna keep seeing more of this fascist behavior from our government. There is no more danger in a cannabis plant than there is in your front lawn. Ten raw potatoes can kill you. Cannabis cannot. (that is the absolute scientific truth. If you don't believe me, look it up.) Good God, people. Wake up and realize that Prohibition didn't work for alcohol, and it will never work for drugs, or any other "thing" for that matter. You can kill people, but you can't kill liberty. (btw 13....where did my last comment go? down the memory hole perhaps?)
