An Iowa man who drove his minivan into a hospital in La Crosse two years ago and barricaded himself in the building, pleaded no contest to felony criminal damage to property Wednesday.
Two other charges against 52-year-old Geoffrey Fitzgerald were dismissed. Records show Fitzgerald was in a rage at the time because of his claim that a doctor at the clinic refused to test him for HIV in 1988, and seven years later he tested positive for AIDS.
His malpractice lawsuit was dismissed.
Fitzgerald will be sentenced on June 23rd.
