A Chippewa County woman is offering a reward after she says someone shot her horse.
Jan Mahoney says she went out of town this weekend and when she got back she found her pet horse Poco with a bullet hole in his neck.
Wednesday was the first time Mahoney was able to coax her horse away from the road where she found him.
She says Poco wasn't scared of people until this happened. Now, she wants the shooter caught.
"I'm scared for the rest of my animals. There's a lot of farmers with a lot of livestock up and down the road. My fear is that whoever did this will try to do it again. I don't want that to happen," she says.
Mahoney reported the shooting to the Chippewa County Sheriff's Department. Captain Eugene Gutsch says the department is waiting for a vet report before they can start trying to find a suspect. Poco's owner isn't sure if her horse will be okay.
If you have any information on the shooting, call the Sheriff's Department at (715) 726-7701.
