The second man killed in a single-engine plane crash this week has been identified as 70-year-old Donald Steffens of Green Bay.

He was one of two people on board the plane that went down Monday afternoon shortly after taking off from a Stevens Point airport. The other man was 56-year-old pilot Dean McGinn of Green Bay.

Portage County Coroner Scott Rifleman says both men died of massive chest trauma upon impact.

Police say the plane was returning to the airport when it crashed, suggesting the McGinn was trying to return to the runway after takeoff.

The Federal Aviation Administration is continuing to investigate.
