An autopsy is being performed on the body of a man officers say was pulled from the Chippewa River in Rusk County. As of 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sheriff David Kaminski says the identification process has not been completed.
The sheriff says a fisherman found a body in the area Thursday morning near where crews have been searching for Russell Neilsen.
Neilsen is the 30-year-old Rice Lake man who's been missing since early April.
The body was found about three miles downstream from where Neilsen's van was.
Officers concentrated their search efforts near the Chippewa River, about ten miles north of Bruce.
Sheriff David Kaminski says Neilsen’s family found his hat and coat in the woods near the river, along with the van.
Kaminski says there are no other missing people in the area.
Officers have yet to identify the body or indicate how the person died.
